OBJECTIVE

1. To develop an understanding of how surges and electrical transients originate and propagate throughout a power system.
2. To develop the capability to understand the nature and calculation of such surges and transients.
3. To be able to understand transients issues related to power system apparatus and overvoltage protection schemes for acceptable system operation w.r.t. insulation performance.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The course is designed for the power systems’ engineers responsible for the operation, control and protection of distribution, transmission and generation systems. It is also targeting consulting and manufacturing engineers, engineers in industrial plants, etc.
