Kehidupan kerja yang penuh dengan liku-liku karena harus menghadapi berbagai tipe dan gaya orang, kadang-kadang membuat seseorang berprilaku yang berpindah-pindah secara tidak konsisten bergantung pada situasi, kondisi dan faktor pribadi yang dimiliki.

Ada 3 gaya perilaku yang biasa diperlihatkan orang apabila ia berada dalam situasi kerja ataupun situasi sehari-hari.

Umumnya mereka yang dapat memperlihatkan pola perilaku Assertive di setiap situasi, akan lebih banyak sukses dalam pekerjaan, karena:

  • Dapat bekomunikasi dengan lancar dan baik.
  • Menghargai dan menghormati diri sendiri dan orang lain.
  • Lebih diterima oleh lingkungan.
  • Dapat mengatur pekerjaan dengan baik.

Tujuan perilaku assertive agar dapat memuaskan diri sendiri juga orang lain sekaligus. Jadi ada win-win solution.

Karenanya sangat diperlukan sikap kerja yang assertive didalam pekerjaan dan hal ini dapat dilatih dengan motivasi yang besar.

KEUNTUNGAN BERPERILAKU ASSERTIVE

  • Lebih menghemat waktu dan tenaga. Dengan assertive dapat menbuat keputusan lebih cepat.
  • Rasa bertanggung jawab. Lebih bertanggung jawab atas kebutuhan, pendapat dan keinginannya.
  • Lebih mampu mengendalikan diri. Atidak dikendalikan oleh orang lain ataupun egonya.
  • Menimbulkan rasa percaya diri yang besar.
  • Memiliki kepercayaan pada orang lain, sehingga mampu mendelegasikan pekerjaan.
  • Memberi peluang pada orang lain untuk berhasil.
  • Membuat hubungan kerja lebih akrab.

Semuanya ini sangat membantu dalam pekerjaan dan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan perilaku assertive ini.

TUJUAN PELATIHAN.

Peserta akan dapat mengembangkan perilaku assertive dengan mengenali dirinya dan berlatih untuk mengubah perilakunya menjadi perilaku assertive yang positif yang akan sangat berguna dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan dengan lebih produktif dan tuntas.

Identifying and overcoming obstacles to Assertiveness

  • Confronting problems
  • Obstacles to assertive behavior – manipulate, negative self statement, Personalizing criticism, internalizing rejection, self general guilt, obligation and fear.

  • Body language as an assertive tool
  • Typical interpretation of body language
  • Assertive and non assertive body language
  • The role of critical dimensions in body language
  • Assertive verbal technique – role of voice quality, importance of timing, practicing verbal technique.
